Surgeries

We perform routine surgical procedures such as spays and neuters. We also perform non-routine soft tissue surgeries, such as

  • Abdominal exploratories
  • Cystotomies (bladder surgery)
  • Mass removals
  • Perineal urithostomies (PU surgeries for blocked male cats).

Our team understands that anesthesia is scary- but rest assured that we do everything we can to make it as safe as we possibly can. We encourage pre-anesthetic blood work to assess the function of kidneys and liver. We place a catheter to ensure we have access to a vein for emergencies and to administer IV fluids to maintain blood pressure. You beloved with be treated as you would want to be treated- on a warming pad to ensure their body temperature is maintained, continuously monitored by a veterinary nurse for oxygen level, EKG and blood pressure. After their procedure, they will be monitored in our ECU ward right in the middle of our treatment area. Their pain will be managed with pre-operative and post-op medications and a therapeutic laser treatment.

Pre-Surgical Deposit and Cancellation Policy

It is the policy of Raleigh Community Animal Hospital to collect a pre-surgical deposit in the amount of $100.00 from all clients prior to any surgical procedure(s). The deposit is required to reserve your desired surgery date and is due at the time of reserving the date of your pet’s surgery. The deposit is non-refundable and will stay on your account as a credit to be used toward your pet’s procedure. You are welcome to make your surgery-day reservation on the day of your choosing. If you later realize a scheduling conflict exists, your deposit will be fully credited toward a more convenient surgery date as long as two (2) business days notice is given. If the surgery appointment is cancelled less than two (2) business days in advance or the patient no-shows for their surgery, the deposit is forfeited and cannot be applied to a future reservation. As a courtesy to our team professionals so that we may accommodate other client needs and in order to receive full credit for your deposit, you must notify our office at least two (2) business days prior to your scheduled procedure date. We understand that personal situations can arise unexpectedly and you may reschedule your surgery as often as necessary without penalty until the end of the calendar year, provided we receive two (2) business days advance notice. If the surgery is not performed by the end of the current calendar year, the deposit is forfeited.

Please note: only procedure excluded from this policy is the ACA Spay/Neuter Voucher.
